okay -- it's almost 4am -- i'm awake with mike lake listening to house tunes circa '91-'93-'95. baltimore house. cajmere. classic david morales. TRACKS back in the day! we're having a BACKTRACKS in mike's bedroom. WURQ! ;-)
i didn't get that job in portland by the way. i stewed over it for the past week -- hence no mention of it until now. it went to someone from the west coast -- apparently someone the GM worked with. a political move -- i'm sure. the reason i was given, "it's just not your turn." oh well -- i just have to keep trying. everyone seems to think that it's affecting me worse than i really feel for some reason. it's just me being quiet and more immersed with work and all. of course i'm a little upset that i didn't get that promotion! it was a prime assignment too. supervising a new station with just 1 flight a day. a night flight -- departing 11:59pm. a total crew of about 8 people. west coast -- laid back attitude in an econmy (living-wise) much more *desirable* than that of dc and making MORE money at that!!! dissappointed, yes. totally over it all? not so much. it just "wasn't meant to be" -- right? i just need to keep to my personal addage and just think of KARMA or whatever you call it. there's something better in store for me -- i'm sure of it. in the meantime - i just need to get on with it and be my old self. maybe after this weekend i'll get more focused. we'll see. i was actually planning out my summer and follow dj paulo around the country groupie thing!
oh yeah -- going back to this *having crushes on your friends* kick that i've been falling into lately -- bryon (kiwi) told me outright -- that i need help. professional help. wow. i do, duh -- but to be so blunt!!! only the way kiwi can do it ... that's for sure! hey -- at least i'm identifying the behavior and actually speaking about it, right?
okay -- mike's playing "Samba" (Tee-s Freeze Mix) by House of Gypsies. i think i'm gonna wurQ it for a bit. WOW indeed! ;-)
