Casino Royale.

I saw the new James Bond flick CASINO ROYALE last night. Aside from being totally fucking HOT, I thought Daniel Craig's take on the James Bond character was great. This time around, we see Bond just receiving his 007 status and how he deals with his "human" conflicts as he goes from killing spree to killing spree all in the name of "Queen and Country." The film was definitely action packed and SUPER LONG clocking in well over 2 hours! The visuals and international backgrounds were simply amazing. Try to see this on the biggest possible screen with digital sound if you can. I give the film a 7 out of 10 rating. (10 out of 10 for Daniel Craig's 'package' -- and honey, he's PACKIN' it!)

SPOILER ALERT: The love story element in it was kind of hokey though. Although I liked the film as a whole, I distinctly got the feeling of it being dragged out. The storyline was quite involved chracter-wise and at times, too, I found the dialogue somewhat hard to comprehend.

Being a product of the Sony Pictures stable, there's product placement galore from VAIO laptop computers to digital cameras to cell phones. Also, in one airport scene, Virgin Atlantic gets major nods from being parked at the airport gate to taking off in another scene. I swear, too, that I even caught a small cameo bit by Sir Richard Branson himself being given the once over at the airport security checkpoint. (Yes, I notice things like this.)

We heard some very mixed reviews on this. We might have to go see it over the holidays! I by-passed the spoilers - thanks for the alert! :)
