Boom Boom Boom 2007.

When it comes to music, I'll be the first to admit that I have a penchant for liking the "not so likable." Paul Lekakis' "Boom Boom Boom" was definitely something that I actually liked ... 20 years ago in it's original incarnation. I just came across this from MySpace and was both excited and horrified in one fell swoop. I distinctly remember dancing to this back in 1986 during the height of the Hi-NrG craze at TRACKS NIGHTCLUB in DC. I just graduated from high school, still living at home, was barely 'out' at the time, and had to sneak around with my friends during the weekends. Ahh -- the good ol' days. LOL.

Remakes and remixes come and go all the time and it was kind of cool to find out it was this song's turn at it. As a whole, the new vocals and production are so-so at best. This is definitely one of those songs that I was probably not expecting to hear ever again! Paul seems to have weathered well. He's apparently been acting and has also released a minor club single last year that wasn't too bad either. I'm just trying to figure out the whole 'straight' angle of the video story line and the girl with the braces. If anyone is denying that this wasn't the gayest of GAY songs ever ...

I didn't know you lived in DC. Boy all those memories of Tracks back in the day. I remember parking in one of those "protected" lots - u remember, the ones where you "paid" someone to watch your car! :)
