I found this character in a nearby Japanese pop culture store yesterday. As usual, I'm late (about 3 years) in his discovery. The whole morbid vs cute thing is totally fascinating. On the back of a notebook I found in the store was this quote, "Gloomy is Pity's pet bear. He is well trained ... except he has a hard time remembering not to attack humans."
