Seeing something like this got me reminiscent of when I used to live in New York City. It's hard to believe that was over 10 years ago. Wow, it doesn't feel like it. I used to live right off 143rd and Broadway and would take the 1/9 train down to Columbus Circle. From there I would walk 4 or 5 blocks over to 57th and Madison Avenue to my temp job at the time. Seeing stuff like this was common but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen an actual piano being played down there! How they ever got it down there is a mystery to me. LOL.

I'm Back!

Yes, I'm back ... home in LA that is. Never mind the fact that it has taken me almost a week to recover from my 10-day holiday back home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. It was such a whirlwind experience! Other than being home in Maryland and DC, I drove down to Richmond and even took the train up to NYC for a little bit of shenanigans! I got to hang out with my family for the first part of the trip and the later part I spent it with friends. I even got to spend some long lost time with old friends from high school with the help of Facebook! No matter how hard I try to document my experiences with photos, I always seem to forget that I have a camera on hand to take quick snapshots. Either way, fond memories last longer, right? I really miss home.

Yes, it's all about the PINKBERRY! Right now it's only available in California and New York. It's sort of hard to describe -- is it yogurt or isn't it??? There's a distinct slight sourness to it but pair it with some fresh fruit, chocolate chips, or cereal you've got a whole lot of yummy. Think frozen Yakult or GoGurt. I've had it twice so far this week and I think I'm hooked!

E.L.O. and Olivia redux.

Xanadu is going to Broadway???? This is what I get for sequestering myself to the west coast. I find out about a lot of things way after-the-fact. Too bad I'm not so much of a theater queen. This is probably something that I would have gone out of my way to see. No word on an official website yet. Here's a Wikipedia link in the meantime. Previews start in a few weeks in NYC.

The Black Party NYC.

the black party in nyc is touted to be "gaydom's premier underground dance party for more than a quarter of a century." it takes place this weekend for what is officially a 24-hour "dark, heavy, sexually-charged musical odyssey!" (i kid you not -- these are quotes from the official press release). this year's theme: SCHWARZWALD: The Black Forest. I think you're supposed to imagine PETER AND THE WOLF ... on krack! to those not necessarily familiar with the annual event -- think a huge dance party, in a super huge venue, with lots of great music and a tinge of heavy leather and sex! this will be my first time attending the said event. by all accounts, this just seems to be another *gay circuit event* but instead of a series of parties over the course of a weekend or week, it's just one huge and LONG party with a slew of unofficial tagging along before and after. last night (friday) was the SAINTS & SINNERS party aboard the frying pan (an actual sea vessel ship) docked at the Chelsea Piers. DJ Rob Harris from DC spun an amazing set! sunday afternoon at the official after party is junior vasquez @ pacha. later that afternoon is alegria extreme @ crobar. WHAT?!?

i'm sooooo excited for tonight! the main dj's spinning the official party are peter rauhofer and offer nissim. two of my big favorites from the past year. a lot of my clubbing friends from home are coming up to enjoy in the festivities as well. it's going to be an awesome night especially when the DC KR*CKER KREW INVADES NYC! lol. lasting until the very end??? we'll see.
