It's hard to believe that 25 years ago today LIVE AID happened. I remember it clearly because I was stuck with my family on the return leg of a cross-country road trip from Los Angeles. My family had a 'thing' for doing stuff like this. Somehow we made the trip in 3 days going west and just a little bit longer coming back east. Trust me, it wasn't cute by the beginning of day 3. We won't discuss the rest stop whore baths in New Mexico. ANYWAY, because of the 2 family conversion van caravan we had going on with my cousins, I missed the original telecast. I was devasted. I TRULY WAS. LOL. I remember seeing clips of it here and there on TV after the fact, but in a time before DVR's it wasn't until many, many years that I've been able to see it in it's entirety.

Spelled right on time.

*Sigh. I think it's going to be an Alphabeat type of day!

I'm all about Kid Kaio these days. I guess the kids are calling this 'fidget house', 'jackin' house'... krazy-hyper-funkiness-in-yo-FACE ... whatever, now. Me likey! Dutch house music at it's best IMHO. I've featured a couple of his remixes in a couple of my last mix-sets.

Is it bad to actually admit I like this song?!? I actually even BOUGHT one of the remixes online too. Stay tuned to (maybe) hear it in a future FLIP4BEARZ mix. Meanwhile, I could do without the 'visuals' of the original. Here's something a little more interesting. Love, love, LOVE the breakdown around 2:20 or so! Too bad the boys look like they need to eat a cheeseburger or 3 or 4. LOL.

Vinny Vero does a nice little writeup of a new Robbie Williams retrospective due to be released this fall '10.  I totally didn't know that he covered George Michael's 'Freedom' as one of his first solo hits!  I kind of fell late on the whole Take That bandwagon  in the 90's.  I think it was the single 'Back for Good' that peaked my interest.  Of course by then, Robbie was well on his way OUT of that whole boy band business.  I distinctly remember blasting this track quite often in the boardroom at Sony Music Distribution (my old job back in the day) in Beltsville, MD.  Mind you -- Take That were NOT a Sony act.  lolol.  Anyway -- Robbie was total hotness back then.  (He still is IMHO.  Also, after watching 'Back for Good' again ... Gary Barlow is a whole bunch of yummy too!)  It's quite unfortunate that Robbie never really REALLY hit it big in the US.
