The pictures don't do them justice, but I just got me a new wallet in the mail! J. Fold, in my opinion, makes some of the coolest accessories at decent prices ($67 for their basic top grain leather billfold). What I like about them most is their cool and unique design aesthetic. My best bud Jay from NYC gave me the 2-stripe Roadster model over 4 years ago and is showing some wear but thankfully NOT falling apart. I bought my new green trimmed Loungemaster last week because I found an online coupon that just made it such a sweet deal to not pass up. Until someone feels compelled to buy me a new LV monogrammed anything, I'm going to rave about these guys for a long while! ;-)

Let me tell you what I do.

Q: You've been invited on a talk show to explain your job to the hosts. What would you say you do on a daily basis?

A: I'm a retail bitch boy by day and an all-star super dj (in my bedroom) at night.  Yee-haw!

Yes, just something everyone of you who reads this wants to know. Ha! It's just my attempt at trying to add some different content here. I found this new website called PLINKY. It basically asks you a daily question and you simply answer it. After that, the website publishes your response directly to your blog (Blogger, Wordpress, Xanga, etc.). The web interface is an interesting Twitter and Facebook mashup.  You can follow other peoples answers and ultimately comment on them.  I think it's cool.

Mixshow madness.

Instead of listening to specific music tracks nowadays, I generally like to listen to entire DJ mixshows or sets I download from the internet. Since I'm forever multi-tasking on my laptop, it's just a whole lot easier to listen to these than to make up my own playlists I guess. I was off today and I putzed around on the computer all afternoon. I think I listened to 5 or 6 hour-long mixes today. Aside from downloading directly from Limewire or something, the best place to find these things are on MySpace! (Ha, gotta give my daily props to MySpace!!!). A lot of the DJ's who have a presence there often share direct links to download these. If you're into the whole BitTorrent thing, I found a great place called: TRIBALMIXES.COM.

I think it's amazing how people can manipulate songs into one continuous flow of music. Eh -- it's the frustrated dj in me I guess. LOL. With all of the knowledge about music I have and all, people always ask why I haven't become one myself. TRUST ME, I'VE TRIED! I think my A.D.D. overcomes me and I simply lose patience. I'm slowly overcoming it, though. Hell, I'm actually able to listen to these mixshows straight through without wanting to change over now. Maybe one day ...

I'm such a fan of tribal house music. Most of the really good stuff is coming out of Spain or Portugal. In the US, I usually turn to New York and Los Angeles. As of today, I'm adding the following to my DJ's list to the right:

This particular blog I read today made quite an interesting announcement today that Manhunt took over Gay.com as the leading GLBT website today with something like a 24% marketshare! It's all about the hook-up I guess. Back in my day, there was just AOL. Now with their demise, why lurk around crowded chatrooms when you can get instant gratification and the most immediate hook-up around, right? Don't get me wrong -- I've participated in a few "clandestine meetings" coordinated coordinated by this site, but I'm definitely not one of their power users! LOL. I'm a proud MySpace addict thank you! Music has always been one of the strongest influences on me and this is one of the best venues to listen and learn about it. I think my friends listing has grown to over 600+ people. Of course I don't know all of them per se, but most of my "friends" there are dj's and artists that I like. They use it as free promotion and most often than not, share links to places where you can get FREE music tracks and mixshows. My own instant gratification of sorts.
