"Say what?!?" I found this on the Lady Bunny Blog. Click on the pic. Definitely NSFW.

Cherry.

So it's 2 weeks later -- I just haven't been motivated to post anything until now. Better late than never, right???

Anyway, I went home for a little vacation of sorts from the 17th until the 23rd of April. It just happened to be around the annual DC Circuit Event known as CHERRY WEEKEND. Since these fabulous DJ's and parties were going on, I just HAD to make a few little appearances at these little old soirées. ;-) Seriously, though, it was a great time to meet up with old friends. It's been almost 2 years since I left DC and that whole 'party' scene behind and I just wanted to catch up with everyone. The one common factor I did notice was that everyone's gained weight (in a good way) and that facial hair and full-on beards were the new hotness. LOL. Of course I don't have any pictures to prove it. Anyway, I had this little inkling of me possibly moving back but after this weekend it was a resounding, "NO!" on that idea. Let's just say I left for a reason and in the long run it was definitely the right thing to do.

Up late...

I just came across an article online about how a close friend was arrested recently for "charges of conspiring to possess and distribute" a large amount of illegal drugs back home in DC. Wow! I first heard about this in hearsay right about when it happened, but to actually read about it in print just kind of put me on edge. It's no secret that one of the reasons for me moving to California last year was to get away from that scene and start anew with a clean slate so to speak. In many ways I'm glad that I got away from it all ... lucky, even! I'm just saddened that this happened to someone I know. I think most people have their own reasons why they do the things they do. For me, the partying stemmed mainly from going to clubs and hearing great music. I was always into music and dj's and the drugs, to me, just helped me to extend the party. For some, I'm sure alterior motives were in play, but I think I can safely say it was just the music for me. FOR REAL! The parties and various social interactions I got myself into (that I would have never done previously) were all just added bonuses. I've written here before that I've experienced a renaissance of sorts in my life in years past. Coming out of my 'shy' shell and simply being 'out and about' was such a milestone in my life. Were the drugs a major part of that? Sure! Of course it was, but it wasn't the only thing. Fast forward to today, it's been over a year now since I have been a part of that 'scene'. It was rough at first, but I got through it. I really don't have an addictive personality and when I found myself falling into this never ending hole of partying for days on end without any sleep, crashing, and then starting over the next week it just got ridiculous for me. Who knows? If I had stayed, maybe something similar would have happened to me. God only knows how many close calls I've had! Suffice to say, I'm going back home to DC this weekend for my little brother's wedding. I have no idea what's going to happen when I try to track down my old gang to see what they're up to now.

Bearforce1.

Think the Dutch remix of Stars on 45 vs the Daddy's of N-Sync. I simply have no response.

Oh NO Ma'am!

I'm definitely the first to admit that modern club music is full of repetitive and (depending on your personal observations of it) quite droning beats. It's not secret that my own personal favorite is tribal house. With that aside, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be 'cute' or what the 'kids are doing these days'. Either way -- it makes you wonder what he's taking to make him do this. LOL.

Happy New Year!

The year 2006 has finally come and gone. For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying my earnest to try to come up with something a little more than interesting to post as my “end-of-the-year” wrap-up. I can truthfully say that I’m pretty much at a loss for words … profound ones at least. LOL. I know for a fact that in 2006, I probably fell into one of the deepest holes of depression I’ve probably ever encountered in my life. After quitting my job with the airline back in February, I distanced myself from my immediate family for quite a long time. Instead of trying to get on with life and move on, I pretty much wallowed in the emptiness of endless partying and drugs and the like. It got to the point where I’d go 3-4 days straight without sleeping trying to keep the party going and going until my body just couldn’t. I started falling for my friends really hard (more so than normal) which led to a lot of unnecessary heartbreak. Oh yeah, speaking of friends … I gained a lot and unfortunately lost a few because of the “party” so to speak. I waited until about my birthday in August to put everything into perspective and make the big jump from DC to LA to start to get things right. In hindsight, I’m still pretty amazed to see how I was able to survive for about 6 months or so without a full-time job and living on my own in a house with roommates. Of course during this time, I depleted all of my savings, spent my 401K, ran up credit cards, and ran down bank accounts. But hey, I did have a good time at least, right? Come to think of it, with all of the various things I snorted, smoked, drank, and ingested, I really didn’t feel like eating a whole lot and lost a ton of weight in the process! LOL.

Craziness, huh? It’s all good though. In all reality, I don’t really regret anything that I have done in my life this past year. Drugs definitely bring out many evils in people you know. You definitely learn how to tell the difference between who your REAL friends are from just mere acquaintances. This is just a statement of fact so please don’t imply that I’m passing judgment on anyone here. I’ve met many cool and interesting people and gained some great true friends in the process. I just definitely could have done other things that weren’t so “interesting” of course, but that’s just life. You really don’t live it until you LIVE IT! I suppose you can just take it all in as one big learning experience and then move on, right?

So it just turned 2007 and I’m glad to say that I’m still alive and breathing in Los Angeles! I’m thankful that I have family here to help me out with a place to live and a car to drive while I get myself back together. I don’t smoke cigarettes as much. I certainly haven’t touched any of those little party favors that are simply known as various single letters of the alphabet since I left DC. I do think about it now and then, but it’s no fun when you don’t know anyone to do with them with. A good thing for now I’m sure. New Year’s resolutions are a bit trite so I’ll just set some “guidelines” to live my life by this year. For starters, (1) I need to get healthier and start exercising and lose some weight in a good way. (2) I really need to find a good job that I REALLY like. (3) I also really want to move and eventually settle in San Francisco. How’s that for being vague yet to the point? LOL. Wish me luck so that 2007 will turn out to be a fantastic year for me!!!

Big Bumpin'

Burger King now has a series of video games out now! Back in my 'hey day' (ahem) a few months ago, the term BIG BUMPIN' would have meant something entirely different! ;-)

Trash.

Who is??? Well -- me, sorta. I all I will comment on here is that I've been a little more active in certain activities that I haven't partaken (sp?) in for a long, long time. Needless to say, after the REACTION dance on Sunday I somehow hook up a ride to work. Too bad we got there early so we just HAD to park the car and "talk" and then one thing lead to another and then ... I walk into work with p*nis breath among other things. Wow. Enuff said. It's a new year -- new me. If I don't go out looking for *it* -- I'll never get *it*, right? ;-)

Anyway -- Mid Atlantic Leather weekend and download porn sights aside -- one thing is for sure. I like me some big hairy men. A LOT. I need to get out more! This weekend is Victor Calderone and his EVOLVE party in NYC. I'm kind of excited. It's one of the BEST parties to go to! I'll do some (dancin) bear huntin'. :- ) I get to do some shopping and things with Jay too. The weather is supposed to be great!

More BLAH than SKETCH...

It's not secret that I tend to get *hung up* [enter the new Madonna song -- pick your remix] on certain things for a certain period of time and then push off to the wayside until I get bored and find more interest in them again. There's a word for it ... I can't seem to remember what it is though. Fanatical maybe?!? Anyway, it's a big part of my own little version of ADD I guess. It's generally been my whole *blogging* ventures over the past couple of years. Some people have MANHUNT. I have (that too once in a while) and FRIENDSTER and MY SPACE. Some people look at is as some sort of popularity contest to see how many *friends* you can have on your lists. I have over 100 people on my FRIENDSTER list. What's scary, though, is that I actually KNOW most of them! My MYSPACE is really fun because a lot of dj's and musical acts post there and you can kind of interact with them directly -- albeit with the marketing people most likely. It's all good. I'm just further perpetuating my DJ Whore status by adding the likes of Peter Rauhofer, Tracy Young, Oscar G., and the like on mine. :-)

One Saturday Afternoon.

Once upon a time, there were 2 kr*k babies with nothing better to do but drive around suburbia and attempt to spend money. They happen to borrow another kr*k baby's car to achieve this goal. After making their initial detour at DSW, they made planes to first go to the computer store to buy spare parts for a home project in the works. After the computer store, it was off to the music store to return a record turntable for store credit (because he got the wrong model). The computer store project went off without a hitch. The funny thing about that one -- the bigger of the 2 kr*k babies out shopped the other there -- a feat not normally achieved, but well done and executed nonetheless. As time marched on, they found themselves back on the road again heading towards the music shop where they sold electronics and various types of dj equipment. The smaller of the two kr*k babies had to return an item that he purchased the day before. It turned out to be a model that didn't fit his needs to be the super dj that he aspired to be. As they both perused the little DJ ROOM, lil' kr*k baby spotted an exact match to a high end turntable he already owned. Mind you, it was an open item and missing a tone-arm, but it didn't matter -- the item was marked down over $300 less than list price. It was a steal -- but unfortunately neither had all of the funds necessary to make the purchase immediately.

--- to be continued ---

ADDENDUM (11/18/06):

Long story short -- I was one of the the two kr*k babies. We returned to the wrong car, got in and proceeded to try to start it for the next 30 minutes. Mind you, the key wouldn't fit and we found a whole lot of stuff we didn't see the first time around when we got there. Minutes later, we come to find out from the REAL owners of the said car that we were NOT supposed to be there. We then look down to the right and see an EXACT same color and model car 2 spaces down. OOPS. The other folks proceeded to say, "Oh, this happens to us all the time!" Wow. Lies!!!

DJ Scotty Thomson.

That was a CRAZY night last Sunday night (9/4) when Scotty T. spun. He played some crazy shit! Maybe I was a little crazy. I was definitely *going through it* because that was the night before we were supposed to leave the house and I haven't packed one bit. How could I after spending a weekend with Mike Lake and then deciding to drive to New York and back all in the same day! Wow. I have no idea why I'm referencing something that happened over a week ago. Maybe just to remind me what a crazy week it's been.
